The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has a collection of information intended to educate investors on the conditions of the stock market. The resource is called EDGAR, and it provides access to more than 21 million findings, including full texts of filings published in the past four years.

Sciedu Press (Accounting and Finance Research)
This peer-reviewed journal (administered by Sciedu Press) features theoretical articles that cover various topics relating to the fields of accounting and corporate finance. The most recent issue (Fall 2013) addressed the efficacy of charitable donations and analyzed the role of foreign banks in the Chinese economy.
Scirp (Modern Economy)

American Educator
One of the most extensive journals currently available to web users, American Educator’s archive contains more than 70 quarterly publications dating back to 1977. While the journal has historically covered a diverse range of topics, most articles are devoted to three central themes: technology and innovation in the classroom, evaluative methods used by educators, and student outcome trends and strategies.

The Literary Encyclopedia provides tons of resources on literature, history, and culture. Although you can view the entries without a membership, you do need one to view the articles in their entirety.

The Library of Anglo-American Culture & History is a great resource for history buffs. Find what you need through its compilation of journals, newspapers, and databases.
National Criminal Justice Reference Service
The National Criminal Justice Reference Service provides articles and other resources focused on criminal justice and drug-related information. It is funded by the U.S. government and provides links to full-text articles whenever possible.
Open Library of Humanities (OLH)
The mission of the Open Library of Humanities is to “support and extend open access to scholarship in the humanities.” To research your topic, browse the featured journals and search for your required keywords.
PhilPapers
PhilPapers is an index of philosophy-related journals, books, open access archives, and personal pages of academics. It is “maintained by the community of philosophers” and allows you to browse over 1,000 philosophy journals. It does have a function that allows you to search open access resources only.
Social Science Research Network
The Social Science Research Network (SSRN) is a collection of papers from scholars in the social sciences community. The site offers over 700,000 abstracts and over 600,000 full-text papers.

Analytical Sciences Digital Library
The Analytical Sciences Digital Library is an incredible resource. It “collects, catalogs, links and publishes peer- reviewed, web-based discovery materials pertinent to innovations in curricular development and supporting technical resources in the analytical sciences.”
Bioline International
Bioline International is a resource tool that provides access to open access research from developing countries. This is a great resource to find authoritative sources on health, biodiversity, environmental changes, conservation, and international development.
BioMed Central
BioMed Central provides open access research in more than 290 peer-reviewed journals in the fields of biology, clinical medicine, and health.
CHBD: Circumpolar Health Bibliographic Database
This is an incredibly specific resource, but it’s useful nonetheless. The Circumpolar Health Bibliographic Database contains 6,800 records related to human health in the circumpolar region (i.e., the area around one of Earth’s poles). Some journals and articles require an access fee.
Elsevier Open Access Journals
This is an A–Z directory of open access journals published by Elsevier. Although there is no search function, you can view the titles and descriptions of each journal.
Europe PMC
The Europe PMC provides access to life science articles, books, patents, and clinical guidelines. Although some of the articles are behind a paywall, there are 3.9 million full texts available.
International Aging Research Portfolio
The International Aging Research Portfolio (IARP) is a system that organizes and allows users to browse research related to aging. It “incorporates databases of grants from multiple sources,” as well as MEDLINE publication abstracts.
Public Library of Science
PLOS is a non-profit organization committed to facilitating openness in academic research. According to the site, “all PLOS content is at the highest possible level of open access, meaning that scientific articles are immediately and freely available to anyone, anywhere.”
PubMed
PubMed offers access to “more than 26 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books.” Some citations link to the full text on PubMed Central and publisher websites, while others are behind paywalls. You can filter your search to view full texts only.
ScienceOpen
ScienceOpen is an incredible research and publishing network offering open access content from more than 24,000 journals.
PSYCHOLOGY
BMC Psychology
This all-encompassing journal publishes articles related to “developmental, clinical, cognitive, experimental, social, evolutionary and educational psychology, as well as personality and individual differences.” The archive features pieces that address topics like sex discrimination due to visual cues, culture-specific cognitive therapy techniques, and the short- and long-term effects of depressive symptoms.
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Mental Health
The archive of this journal dates back to 2007, and contains more than 200 research reports, case reports, editorials, and letters. CAPMH is geared toward psychologists, pediatricians, neuroscientists, and other individuals in the field. BASE: Bielefeld Academic Search Engine
